Alcalagres invests 4 million euros in its production plant in Camarma de Esteruelas
Bullish prospects for the ceramic sector after years of economic crisis. Spanish companies have made their way into the foreign market, which now has promising growth expectations
Alcalagres was a pioneer in Spain in the manufacturing of technical porcelain, polished and 20 MM thick materials, which later became a trend in the Spanish ceramic sector for combining resistance and aesthetics. These technological advances imply high quality requirements in the production processes due to their great manufacturing complexity, which is why they are not suitable materials for all manufacturers.
Alcalagres continues to look to the future while developing new products and formats, competing in international markets with Italian and Spanish brands. Immersed in a process of expansion in America, Europe, Asia and the Middle East, Alcalagres meets their demands and is quick to respond to the needs of new markets. In order to do so, this transformation will be developed in various phases. The first, aims to increase the production of square meters and the redistribution of space in the factory. Through the direct connection between the presses and the serigraphy lines, the production process will be optimized.
So that it may be of greater use to our client, Alcalagres has projected a more efficient distribution of the productive infrastructure, which will allow to reduce to the minimum the final delivery times of the product.
After a multi-million euro investment, a new furnace with a channel 120 meters long and 3 meters wide, with the capacity to produce 2 million square meters of ceramics per year has been added. At its outlet a new dry squaring machine has been incorporated to optimize the times to the maximum.
In this way, Alcalagres faces its next challenge, the incorporation of large format in a short space of time.
